Consistent Success
Tom Atkins', founder of Summit Manor, did his first marketing work as one
of the "founding four" of The Whitlock Group. The Whitlock Group was a startup,
but within 5 years, had grown into a $30M/year company. From there Atkins became
a partner in TGS, a fledgling systems integrator on the forefront of HDTV
integration. . As TGS' VP of sales and marketing the company grew at over 200% a
year for five years running. TGS was later bought by Ascent Media. Currently,
Atkins does marketing work for Diversified Systems, helping them increase their
presence as a national and international firm.
As he marketed for the companies he worked for. Atkins began to do marketing
for others, both independently under the Summit Manor name, and as a partner in
The Kingma Agency, creating and implementing marketing and sales strategies for
other companies.
The actual strategies varied, but one thing all these enterprises had in
common - a pattern of consistent success.

Creativity
Listen to many ad and marketing agencies, and you might think all it
takes for a successful marketing campaign is rampant creativity. And certainly
creativity is part of what we do. Atkins' creative credentials include 25 years
of marketing, as well as the fact that he is a poet, artist, photographer,
writer and more. He has been a director of plays and music groups. Creativity is
a centerpiece of his life and work.

effectiveness. Experience has taught us that in the business to business
marketplace, there are often a wide variety of techniques and strategies that

Some of our clients have been ad agencies or marketing departments who
needed some of my specialized skills, such as copy writing or photography. Other
clients are smaller firms who used Summit Manor as an outsourced marketing
department, overseeing and producing all their materials as part of their
overall sales strategy.
Our flexibility is part of what sets us apart. We are comfortable being a
small part of a corporate marketing team, or taking the lead and guiding

Industry
Beyond his success in marketing, Atkins has over 25 years expertise as a
video dealer and integrator. He has (and continues to) designed and built
broadcast, production and AV systems for a wide variety of customers. This have
given Summit Manor a special insight into the TV and AV markets, so not
surprisingly, much of our marketing work is inside those industries.

on the trends, technology and terminology of media technologies, Summit Manor
