Imagine you and two friends go to work on a construction site...

When you report to work, the foreman gives each of you tools for your work. One friend gets a saw. Another gets a paintbrush. And you are handed a hammer. Because of the tools you were given, it becomes very clear who is to do what- who is to cut things, who is to paint, and who is to nail things together.

Each of us wants to find God's purpose for our lives. Many of us spend our entire lives seeking that purpose. We read the bible. We pray. We search. And we find ourselves disappointed that we have not found it, sure that somehow we are not living up to the standard God has set for us.

Spiritual Gifts are empowering gifts whose purpose is to empower God's people to accomplish God's work. Discovering those gifts in ourselves empowers us. Knowing and understanding our spiritual gifts places the power of our God in our very lives.

Understanding our spiritual gifts can give us a sureness of purpose we all crave. It can give the abundant life God offers each of us and give us insight as to what we are meant to do. It can transform not only people, but also organizations and businesses.
